The best beaches between Preveza and Parga
Most itineraries drive straight from Preveza to Parga in under an hour. Slow down and the coastline in between has some of the emptiest sand in the region.
Preveza to Parga is a roughly hour-long drive along the coast, and it's tempting to treat it as a transit leg between two more famous stops. Do that and you'll miss a run of beaches โ Kastrosikia, Kanali, Alonaki, Vrachos-Loutsa โ that see a fraction of the visitors either endpoint gets, precisely because most people are driving past them.
Why this stretch is worth slowing down for
This part of the coast doesn't have Parga's postcard citadel or Preveza's old-town buzz, which is exactly why it stays quiet. What it does have is genuinely long, sandy beaches backed by pine forest, with informal parking that suits a campervan far better than the tight streets of the towns at either end.
The beaches, north to south
Kastrosikia
A long sandy beach not far south of Preveza, with pine trees running close to the shoreline and enough space to always find a quiet stretch, even in August.
Kanali
One of the longest continuous beaches in the region โ reports put it at over 10km of sand. It's genuinely too long to see in one visit; pick a stretch and stay put rather than trying to cover it all.
Alonaki / Ammoudia
A quieter bay near the mouth of the Acheron river, backed by dunes and low scrub, popular with campervan travellers specifically โ expect a canteen for basics rather than full facilities.
Vrachos-Loutsa
A beach split into two halves by name only โ Loutsa toward Parga in the north, Vrachos toward Preveza in the south โ sitting roughly 25km from Parga.
Parking and staying overnight
Most of these beaches have informal, unpaved parking areas set back from the sand under the pines rather than a dedicated car park, which works well for a compact campervan but can be tight for a large motorhome โ arrive with some flexibility on exactly where you park.
