The best campsites in Western Greece for campervans
From olive-shaded pitches on Lefkada to beachfront sites near Preveza and Parga β a practical, honest guide to where to park up for the night.

You've picked up your van at Aktion Airport, the keys are in your hand, and the Ionian coast stretches out ahead of you. Now the only question is: where to sleep tonight?
Western Greece has a good spread of campsites β from simple beachside pitches to full-service spots with pools and restaurants. Here's an honest rundown, grouped by area.
Lefkada Island
Lefkada is connected to the mainland by a short bridge, so you drive your campervan straight onto the island β no ferry needed.
Camping Kariotes
Kariotes village, east coast, about 2 km south of Lefkada Town
Family-run since 1979, in a mature olive grove with a pool, hot showers, a mini-market and a small restaurant. Walking or cycling distance to Lefkada Town.
Roughly β¬20β30/night for a campervan with two adults, season-dependent
Camping Dessimi Beach
Dessimi Bay, east coast near Nydri
One of the island's oldest campsites, right on a sheltered bay with olive-shaded pitches. Hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi. Popular with the sailing crowd out of Nydri β book ahead or arrive early in peak season.
Around β¬22β30/night for a campervan with two adults
Poros Beach Camping
Mikros Gialos, south Lefkada
The most resort-like Lefkada option β pool, restaurant, and direct sandy-beach access. Close to Porto Katsiki and Egremni for day trips.
Approximately β¬25β35/night for a campervan with two adults
The mainland coast: Preveza to Syvota
Back on the mainland, the coast from Preveza down to Syvota has some of the least crowded camping in Western Greece.
Camping Nissos
Kastrosykia, roughly 15β20 minutes from Aktion Airport
The closest quality campsite to the airport, sloping through an olive grove down to a pebble beach. Hot showers, shared kitchen, restaurant, and a service point for water and waste. A good first or last night.
β¬18β35/night for a campervan with two adults, season-dependent
Camping Enjoy Lichnos
Lichnos Bay, a few kilometres south of Parga
Part campsite, part hotel, set on a hillside above one of the coast's prettiest bays. Pool, restaurant, water sports on the beach below β the walk down from the pitches is steep, but the view earns it.
From around β¬25/night for a campervan pitch; check current rates directly, as pricing structures vary
Valtos Camping
Valtos Beach, about 2 km from Parga centre
A no-frills, well-located site 100 metres from Valtos Beach and a 20-minute walk from Parga's castle and old town. Priced per item (adult, vehicle, pitch) rather than a flat bundle β expect a total in the low-to-mid β¬20s for a campervan and two adults.
Roughly β¬20β28/night for a campervan with two adults, built up from per-item pricing
Camping Sofas
Near Perdika, between Parga and Syvota
The wild card of the group β a private bay, basic facilities, and a genuine sense of having found somewhere untouched. No restaurant on site; Syvota's harbour tavernas are a short drive away.
Around β¬18β25/night for a campervan with two adults
Planning your route
Most of these campsites work well as stops on a longer loop starting and ending at Aktion Airport:
- 1Night 1: Camping Nissos β closest to the airport, an easy first night
- 2Nights 2β3: Camping Kariotes or Dessimi Beach β exploring Lefkada
- 3Night 4: Poros Beach Camping β south Lefkada, for Porto Katsiki
- 4Night 5: Camping Enjoy Lichnos or Valtos β Parga
- 5Night 6: Camping Sofas β winding down near Syvota
Practical tips
- Outside JulyβAugust, most sites run first-come, first-served. In peak season, the more popular ones (Dessimi Beach, Poros Beach) fill up β arrive before noon or call ahead.
- Budget β¬4β6/night extra for electricity hook-up if you want it; our vans' leisure batteries cover lighting, fridge and USB charging without it.
- Confirm current prices and opening dates directly with each site before you travel β rates and seasons shift year to year, and change without much notice.
- Dog policies vary by site β always check ahead if you're travelling with a pet.
- Wild camping outside designated sites carries real legal restrictions in Greece β see our full guide on where you can stay for the details.
