The Ionian coast loop: Preveza, Parga and Syvota by campervan
Three towns, roughly 90km of coast road, and no ferry required. Here's how to link them into a relaxed three- or four-day loop from PVK.

If you only have three or four days and want to stay entirely on the mainland, this loop covers the best of the coast north of PVK without a single ferry crossing: Preveza, the beaches in between, Parga, and the quieter village of Syvota further south.
The shape of the route
The whole loop is around 90km of coast road each way — toll-free and comfortable in a compact campervan — so the driving itself is never the bottleneck. What makes it a three- or four-day trip rather than a single long day is that each stop rewards slowing down: Preveza's old town, the empty beaches in between, Parga's castle and coves, and Syvota's harbour all deserve an evening rather than a drive-through.
A suggested four-day version
Day 1
PVK to Preveza
Pick up your van and cross the Aktio–Preveza tunnel into town. Preveza's old town, waterfront promenade and small, walkable centre make it an easy first night that doesn't demand a long drive on arrival day.
Day 2
Preveza to Parga, via the beaches
Head south along the coast, stopping at Kastrosikia, Kanali or Alonaki along the way rather than driving straight through — see our full guide to the beaches on this stretch. Arrive in Parga by afternoon for the castle and the old town in the evening light.
Day 3
Parga
A full day based in Parga: the Venetian citadel, Valtos Beach or the further, quieter Sarakiniko, and a slow dinner by the harbour.
Day 4
Parga to Syvota, and back
A shorter, roughly 30-minute drive south to Syvota for its sheltered bay and Bella Vraka sandbar, before looping back to Preveza and PVK, or continuing north toward Igoumenitsa if you're catching a ferry onward.
Practical notes
The entire route uses the free coastal road — no tolls anywhere on this loop, unlike the routes inland toward Meteora. Roads are comfortable for a compact van throughout; the only sections that call for extra care are the final approach roads into Parga's and Syvota's beaches, which narrow and steepen close to the water.
